Not to be confused with the 1991 Genesis hit "Hold On My Heart," nor with the Pet Shop Boys' own 2012 Elysium song "Hold On," this 1994 house-music single bears songwriting credits of "Strandkvist-Tennant-Lowe" by virtue of its lyrics, which for the most part are lifted directly from the 1987 PSB classic "Heart." There's a new chorus, however ("Hold on, my heart—you're missing a beat"), and the music—which itself bears more than a passing similarity to that of "Heart"—is nevertheless sufficiently different to merit an additional composing credit for the brains behind this record: Swedish dance-music maestro Johan Strandkvist, who has fronted, helmed, and/or produced an assortment of dance acts, of which Rhythm Inc. is one.
In short, the PSB connection to this track is real enough, but its a still an anomaly at the outer fringes of the "catalogue."
