There Are Bad Times Just Around the Corner
by Robbie Williams
Writers - Noël Coward
First released - 1998
Original album - Twentieth-Century Blues (various artists)
Producer - Neil Tennant, Pete Gleadall, Tom Stephan
Subsequent albums - (none)
Other releases - (none)
Another item from the Twentieth Century Blues project, this number was "produced and played" by Neil along with longtime PSB associates Pete Gleadall and Tom Stephan.
It's also worth noting that Williams, a dedicated PSB fan, has also recorded a cover version of the Boys' "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing" (released as a bonus track on his 1998 "Let Me Entertain You" single and on the second Friends TV soundtrack CD), although apparently neither Chris nor Neil were otherwise directly involved in its recording. And has anyone else noticed how much Robbie resembles Neil in his video for "Millennium"? Between the tux and the haircut, he comes across as a younger (and, let's be honest, somewhat more macho) version of Neil auditioning for the role of James Bond.
