Have you any plans to update Rock on the Wild Side with a new edition?
I would love to, but I'm afraid it's simply not practical at this point. You see, I consider myself extremely fortunate in having published the book when I did in 1994. Shortly afterward, the world of pop had a veritable explosion of "gay music." In fact, the amount of gay-themed music released since 1995 absolutely dwarfs the amount released beforehand. That of course is a very good thing—unless you're planning to write about it in any way that approaches comprehensiveness. It would now almost have to become my life's work, and my life is busy enough as it is. I mean, even though I'm now retired, I still have plenty to keep me busy. Besides, isn't retirement supposed to be about not working?
